SKS3 die steel is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel suitable for making cold work dies and plastic dies.

SKS3 die steel characteristics
High toughness, high wear resistance, good hardenability, good dimensional stability of heat treatment, good polishing, good weldability, good flame hardening and high frequency quenching performance. Softening and annealing to 190HB, heat treatment hardness of about 60 HRC.
SKS3 die steel use
Cold die applications: general stamping and forming, stamping and forming of thick plates, deep drawing, embossing, cold extrusion dies with complex shapes, rolls, cutting blades, prototyping tools, etc.
Plastic mold application: long-life plastic mold, reinforced plastic mold, pressure plastic mold, etc., the combination of excellent toughness and wear resistance makes SKS3 mold steel suitable for different plastic mold applications, its use as a plastic mold has good wear resistance, to meet the requirements of safe and reliable long life. SKS3 die steel has a uniform microstructure, coupled with its low non-metallic element content (due to vacuum degassing process) to ensure accurate, consistent skin pattern reproduction and good polishing results after photoetching. Etching should be carried out in the etching medium dealing with high chromium steel.
