High magnesium content, low strength, high plasticity, and good corrosion resistance
05 is an Al Mg anti rust aluminum alloy that cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. This alloy has a high magnesium content and low strength, similar to 03 alloy. Alloy cold deformation is possible, but plasticity is reduced. The plasticity of the annealed state is relatively high, while the plasticity of the semi cold work hardened state is still acceptable. The alloy has good corrosion resistance and is suitable for spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding, and argon arc welding. Its machinability is poor in the annealed state, but good in the semi cold work hardening state.
05 alloy is commonly used in the manufacturing of pipelines, welded oil tanks, other liquid containers, and other parts that require high plasticity, good corrosion resistance, and the ability to withstand moderate loads; Wires are used as welding rods and rivets, and rivets require anodizing treatment. In foreign countries, similar alloys (such as 5456) are used to make armor plates and structural components. Storage tanks, pressure vessels, and marine equipment components, etc.
