7A04 belongs to the Al Zn Mg Cu series superaluminum alloy, also known as superaluminum, which is a relatively mature, long-lasting, and widely used alloy in superaluminum. High strength, good heat treatment strengthening effect, moderate plasticity in annealed and newly quenched states; Unlike hard aluminum, the corrosion resistance under artificial aging is better than that under natural aging, and the natural aging process is slower, taking 3 months to reach the peak of aging hardening. Therefore, the disadvantage of using 7A04 under quenching artificial aging is that its microstructure stability is not high, low-frequency fatigue strength is low, and there is a tendency for stress corrosion cracking. The alloy has good spot properties and good machinability after gas welding heat treatment, but poor machinability after annealing.
