N08367 stainless steel, also known as AL – 6XN, is a super austenitic stainless steel. It has excellent corrosion resistance, high – strength and good toughness, and is widely used in harsh corrosion environments. The specific introduction is as follows:
Chemical composition: It mainly contains elements such as nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo), copper (Cu) and nitrogen (N). The nickel content is 23.5% – 25.5%, the chromium content is 20.0% – 22.0%, the molybdenum content is 6.0% – 7.0%, the copper content is ≤0.75%, the nitrogen content is 0.18% – 0.25%, the manganese content is ≤2.0%, the silicon content is ≤1.0%, the phosphorus content is ≤0.040%, the sulfur content is ≤0.030%, and the rest is iron.
Physical properties: The density is 8.24g/cm³, the melting point is 1320 – 1400℃, the elastic modulus is 290GPa, the thermal conductivity is 90W/(m•℃), the hardness is about 280HB, and the coefficient of thermal expansion (20 – 100℃) is 8.5×10⁻⁶/℃.
Mechanical properties: The tensile strength is ≥650MPa, the yield strength is ≥295MPa, and the elongation is ≥35%. It has good toughness and ductility, and the impact energy remains stable at – 196℃.
Material characteristics: It has excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion, and can withstand seawater with a Cl⁻ concentration of ≥50,000ppm. Its stress – corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance is 5 times that of 316L. It also has good resistance to acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, and can resist 93% concentrated sulfuric acid (≤200℃) and hydrochloric acid (≤2%). In addition, due to the high nitrogen content, its tensile strength is higher than that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel.
Heat – treatment characteristics: Solution treatment is carried out at 980 – 1150℃ and cooled quickly to optimize the structure.
Application fields: It is widely used in marine engineering, such as high – pressure pipelines for seawater desalination and subsea Christmas tree components; in energy and chemical industry, such as flue – gas desulfurization (FGD) equipment and acidic oil – gas pipelines; and in special industries, such as nuclear power plant servo water pipes and pharmaceutical clean equipment.
