Product Description

GR2 titanium alloy is a commercially pure titanium alloy, equivalent to TA2 in Chinese standards. It is widely used in aerospace, chemical, medical and other fields due to its excellent properties such as corrosion resistance, high strength – to – weight ratio and biocompatibility. The following is a detailed introduction:
Chemical Composition: It is mainly composed of titanium (Ti), with a content of more than 90% of the total mass of the alloy. The content of iron (Fe) does not exceed 0.30%, carbon (C) does not exceed 0.10%, nitrogen (N) does not exceed 0.03%, hydrogen (H) does not exceed 0.015%, and oxygen (O) does not exceed 0.25%.
Mechanical Properties: Its tensile strength is at least 344MPa, yield strength is at least 275MPa, elongation is at least 20%, and hardness is Rockwell B70. It has a good balance of strength and toughness, and its strength is higher than that of TA1 (GR1) titanium alloy, but its plasticity and toughness are slightly lower.
Physical Properties: The density is 4.51g/cm³, which is lightweight, helping to achieve lightweight design in applications. The melting point is about 1660°C, and it has good high – temperature resistance. Its thermal conductivity is relatively low, which should be noted in the processing to prevent overheating of the tool.
Main Features
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: It can form a dense and inert oxide film on the surface in acid, alkali, salt water and other environments, with strong resistance to general corrosion, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion, and its corrosion resistance is much better than that of many stainless steels.
Good Formability: It can be plastically deformed when rapidly cooled at room temperature, and has excellent formability, which can be processed into various shapes through processes such as bending and rolling, and is easy to be processed into components of different shapes.
Good Weldability: It has good weldability, and the welded joint can maintain most of the base metal properties, which is convenient for manufacturing large – scale components and structural parts.
Biocompatibility: It has good biocompatibility, will not produce immune response in the human body, and is safe to contact with human tissues and body fluids, so it is widely used in the medical field.
Application Fields
Aerospace Field: It is used to manufacture aircraft structural parts, engine parts and aircraft components. Its lightweight and corrosion – resistant properties can reduce the weight of the aircraft and improve its service life and reliability.
Chemical Industry: It is used to manufacture corrosion – resistant containers, pipelines, valves, reactors and other equipment, which can effectively resist the erosion of acid – base and other corrosive media, and is suitable for harsh chemical environments.
Medical Field: It is often used to manufacture artificial joints, dental implants, surgical instruments, etc. Its biocompatibility and corrosion – resistance can ensure the long – term stability and safety of medical devices in the human body.
Energy Field: It is used in heat exchangers of seawater desalination equipment, seawater cooling systems, offshore oil production devices, etc. It can maintain good performance in the environment of handling corrosive substances such as strong acids and alkalis, reducing equipment maintenance and replacement costs.
